The scope of intervention of the "ECOESTRAMURALE" project concerns the current extramural of the municipality of Corato, the outermost ring of mobility that unites and at the same time delimits a part of the urban fabric. It is one of the main and supporting elements of the urban road network, made up of Via Ettore Fieramosca, Viale V. Veneto, Via IV Novembre, Viale A. Diaz and Viale Luigi Cadorna, bordering on one side the compact historical fabric, on the other of historic plant and new expansion. This executive project concerns the regeneration of the spaces of the urban Estramural and concerns the road redevelopment works and the cycle paths planned on the site of the "Estramural" road ring, the redevelopment of the pedestrian areas present along the avenue and the redevelopment of 5 squares. The intervention is based on the creation of green areas and soft mobility paths that allow all users to enjoy public spaces by removing architectural barriers, encouraging pedestrian traffic, reducing pollution and traffic. The redevelopments include new flooring, new trees, new water collection systems. The project not only includes a new road section by re-proportioning the vehicular, pedestrian and cycle space, but also aims to recover all the main open spaces and squares which, together with the redesign of the intersections, increase the share of pedestrian space in the urban fabric.
